I’m not even going to try and justify my obsession with Friday Night Lights, all I can say is it’s f’ing amazing. The more I get into it, the more my friends come out of the woodworks and admit they are obsessed with it too. Well, this post is dedicated to a perfect example of that. My friend Sergio, of the famous White Hot Top Five on Current TV, made a short film about Friday Night Lights. I was on Twitter today trying to gain inspiration, or some sort of motivation for this blog post I said I was going to write in regards to being a part of Twitter during the election. But, while I was on Twitter @bbonndesign tweeted to @juliaroy that @aarondignan had mentioned her in a speech he gave at at interesting new york. I know it’s a lot of tweetings and tweeters to keep in mind, but there is a light at the end of the tweet… watch this video on how “an entire generation is growing up seeing life as a game”

I used to work for @aarondignan at Undercurrent when I first started this blog last year, and can easily say it’s those guys that got me started in the interactive world- they’re awesome; extremely smart and cutting edge thinkers…so watch the video and learn something:)!

another slightly odd product…

I wrote about Maternacord…funny stuff…and now I will write about Mother Candles.

Why? you ask…well 1. I work there 2. they are funny 3. the commercial/film is hilarious. So, here goes…it’s a funny product created for Mother’s day. This holiday is nice. I mean your mom deserves a lot of thank-you’s, and to give her one day full of them shouldn’t be like pulling teeth. But, with Hallmark up our butt’s about buying this and buying that, it takes away the genuine attitude that should go along with mothers day- at least I think so. So, what better way to take back the day then to mock it. I know I think it’s hilarious:)

Watch the video, look at the candles…if you want to be funny buy one for your mom, or your dad, but I don’t really think Grandma would be too fond of them.

Pangea Day is a film project and contest(although submissions are closed now) that very slightly reminds me of the film contest I took part in this past fall for the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. But, the difference is being a part of Pangea Day is not limited to filmmakers. Individuals and companies are holding public and private events on May 10th to be a part of a live screening of this amazing project on the day the films will be shown.

I really can’t explain how happy it makes me to see individuals, organizations, and corporations coming together and using an art form to do something good. Using media arts to strengthen consciousness is an amazing and powerful tool, so events like these really do start actions towards change, whether it be a mindset or a government action. Go to an event, host an event, whatever you decide to do I think this is something amazing you should all be a part of.
