Oh yes. You read that correctly. If you haven’t heard of Free Rice you are seriously missing out.

I’m one of those people that likes to test myself to see how smart I am; trivia pursuit, crossword puzzles, sudoku, you name it and I’ve gone through a phase of being addicted to it…to the point of purposefully sitting in the back of the classroom so as not to be interrupted by the class I was in while I was doing my ‘puzzle’ of the day. Free Rice falls into that category for me. Luckily enough, everyone that plays it seems to be just as addicted as me, so I don’t feel bad when I accidentally get caught up for an hour playing without noticing my surroundings.

Anyway, Free Rice is a word test game; you have to be able to choose the correct synonym of the word presented to you. If you get the answer correct, an allotted amount of rice (in grains) is put into your bowl of donations. You aren’t paying, just playing. So, the more you play the better you get. The better you get, the more rice you donate. The rice is given to The United Nations World Food Programme, and is paid for by the advertising at the bottom of the screen. Don’t think that makes sense? Remember how much rice is, and it makes perfect sense.

So…if you have a passion for words, want to study for a standardized test, gain a better vocabulary, or just simply distract yourself for a few minutes you should give Free Rice a try and know you are bettering yourself and others!

if you love tv game shows…

Alright, so here’s the deal: I love tv game shows. I secretly want to be on who wants to be a millionaire. My dad and my grandma were both on Jeopardy (before I was born), so maybe it’s in my genes or something. Anyway, I used to spend hours in my college dorm room playing who wants to be a millionaire online. For some reason I fell out of that phase…but, I’m getting back into it thanks to WeDigTV.

WeDigTV is sort of like tv online, but not really. It gives you game shows on channels that you can pick from, but you don’t watch… You play!!!!

It gets cooler though. When you pick the game you want to play, it really looks like you are on that game show. There is a real person (not digitally created) announcing, a real studio audience, and actual commercials. Not only was this a really great business move on WeDigTV’s part, but it actually makes it seem like you are playing. I have no complaints! The graphics are also great, the site is simple, and really really addicting!

So, for any of you that are sure you belong on one of these game shows, want to prove just how brainy you are, or have some time to kill go to WeDigTV!!!!
