I know most of you are probably knee deep in Scrabulous games, and this post will most likely be boring to you…but meh, don’t read it then:) Ahhhh Scrabulous, how you entertain me in my times of boredom; how you keep my vocabulary continuously evolving; how you make me feel stupid at a 10 pt. word play….

I really had no interest in expanding my usage of Scrabulous to facebook until I was invited by a friend and realized how amazing this facebook app. really is. I’m not a fan of new facebook apps., adding apps., and or websites/brands that simply have facebook apps. to grow themselves. I actually think it’s kind of a cop out at this point. Unless, of course, it adds something positive to your facebook experience, without being obnoxious, contrived, and in your face. Scrabulous, you’ve done it! I actually think I like the facebook app. more than the website itself.

Why? You might ask…because on the facebook app. I don’t have to devote time to play an entire game at once, have a player ready to play with me at that very moment, or feel pressured to hide the game while I’m supposed to be researching or writing a deck. Nope, I can play my facebook Scrabulous whenever I have time to make 1 move, not play a whole game. This is a Scrabble revolution. Seriously. Anyway, I’m excited, you should be excited, we all should be excited about this new wonderful way to play this wonderful old game.

Today I want to touch on a site that many of you have probably already heard of, but maybe not…iminlikewithyou: http://www.iminlikewithyou.com is a psueto dating site of sorts, if you choose to use it that way. Before you begin to explor this fairly basic site, you have to be given an invitation code by someone that already has a profile on it. The invitation codes are given out by the site for gaining enough points or, of late, because they are trying to grow the site. So, once you have an invitation to join, here’s how this site will make your ego grow substaintially or make you understand why that smart and funny ex boyfriend or girlfriend of yours dumped you because well, frankly yu just couldn’t keep up with the zingers being thrown your way.
The game: Pick a question…any question, and that is your “game.” When I first joined I perused the games going on at the time, and came up with my own. Emily’s first game: “What is a date?” Then, people see my game and “bid” on it. Your bid is made to match how clever, funny, or just how much you stand behind your answer or response. Some responses don’t even make sense, but sometimes those are the best ones. So, anyway…when the game is over you pick a winner. The winner then becomes your friend and you have sucessfully made a new contact on the site. Becoming friends with someone in any other way costs you a good number of points, so really this is the best way, and it’s fun.
Although this site may sound simple and pointless, it’s a great way to see how others respond to your wittyness, and have a little fun with your brain in an online social environment. It could definitely use some work, more depth and a variance rather than only have a few option of things to do while spending time on iminlikewithyou. So, if you happen to get one of those invitation codes, I say why not register and start “gaming.” It’s fun, at least for a while!
