linkable laughter

January 27, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Last night I was in bed watching Hook on my computer (thank you very much netflix on demand you are the love of my life), and a friend sent me a link to the video below. With all these views and how awesomely entertaining this is, I can’t believe I’ve never seen it before. I don’t think I need to say anything more…so enjoy the laughter and amusement that this video will bring you!

have a laugh at others expense…

March 3, 2008 · 1 Comment

kinda. You know when you hear the most ridiculous things and you wish you could call all your friends and tell them that instant…maybe not. But, that’s usually what goes through my mind when I’m laughing out loud and looking around to catch a strangers eye and share this little bit of random entertainment with.

Well, here’s a website full of people just like me, that want other people to share the laugh with. Overheard in New York is a very simple site; people submit things they’ve heard (but not participated in), so others can share the amusement of [usually] the stupidity of the comment(s).

ny

The enjoyment I get out of perusing the quote on this website, not only Overheard in New York ,but also Overheard in the office, Overheard at the beach, Celebrity wit, and Overheard everywhere. This site is hours of entertainment, but really only needs a few minutes here and there when you need a little spirit booster during a way-too-long day at work. Ya know what I’m sayin’….so boost those spirits and laugh at others. ha. perfect.

this time LOL is the best description

February 26, 2008 · 2 Comments

This was sent to me recently. I thought it was something my friend randomly stumbled upon (and not in the sumbleupon sense), not something almost everyone is in the process of getting turned on to.

stuffwhitepeoplelike
Stuff White People Like is hilarious. It takes cliches to the next level by creating them-in a way. It’s like the cliche you know exists but isn’t a cliche yet because it’s too modern. Well, that’s what this blog is all about. Ridiculous things white people like, a brief humorously written few paragraphs on it, and an accompanying photo. There is a new post anywhere from everyday to every 3 days, which is great because the small amount of content is turning this blog into a daily must read for a growing number of people.

I highly recommend you add it to your bookmarks, not just del.icio.us . It’s one of those sights you want to remember to check everyday: Today I was reminded that I, among all white people, threaten to move to Canada when I don’t agree with things going on in the US. Ha.

if you love tv game shows…

February 6, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Alright, so here’s the deal: I love tv game shows. I secretly want to be on who wants to be a millionaire. My dad and my grandma were both on Jeopardy (before I was born), so maybe it’s in my genes or something. Anyway, I used to spend hours in my college dorm room playing who wants to be a millionaire online. For some reason I fell out of that phase…but, I’m getting back into it thanks to WeDigTV.

WeDigTV is sort of like tv online, but not really. It gives you game shows on channels that you can pick from, but you don’t watch… You play!!!!

It gets cooler though. When you pick the game you want to play, it really looks like you are on that game show. There is a real person (not digitally created) announcing, a real studio audience, and actual commercials. Not only was this a really great business move on WeDigTV’s part, but it actually makes it seem like you are playing. I have no complaints! The graphics are also great, the site is simple, and really really addicting!

So, for any of you that are sure you belong on one of these game shows, want to prove just how brainy you are, or have some time to kill go to WeDigTV!!!!

another amazing photo essay site

January 28, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I first saw this site while perusing the latest winners and losers on Commandshift3. Jan Sochor not only has a wonderfully designed website, but the content matches the exterior amazingly. The photos are vibrant and eye catching, and the subject matter stimulating. The photo essays are put together beautifully, and I really have no complaints. I highly recommend sitting down and watching some of the photo essays, and if you can’t dedicate that much time, at least click through the photoblog.

New site alert!!!! STREET BONERS and TV CARNAGE
Two of my friends just launched their new website, and I must say it is m-a-zing! Funny, as in hilarious, entertaining, and just a little bit wrong which makes it that much more right, I love it! It has fashion(sorta)photos, funny tv videos, short editorials, write-in areas, and plenty of stuff to peruse.

I’m telling you, if you like below the belt, but intellectual humor, you will love this!

I show, you show, we all show

January 17, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Here’s a site I found accidentally (which is kind of how I find a lot of my sites), and haven’t had more than 5 min. to look at it. But, my gut instinct is telling me it is cool enough that it shouldn’t sit on a sticky note and wait to be written about. WeShow, and purely on first impressions with a little digging around the site, is cool. I guess it is best compared to youtube, but the difference being in the layout, search capabilities, and content on the site. It seems to have the most bizarre and obscure video, and video clips; from the scene in Willy Wonka where Violet becomes violet, to the new web trend of lip synching. But, the part about the site that I really like right away is that everything is categorized for you. For example, I found that Willy Wonka clip under the category Classic Videos: Cult Videos. Awesome categorization!!!

I’m going to spend some time on WeShow to see what I think, but I have a feeling it’s going to be my go-to site when I want to see The Panasonic strip tease commercial (for example…ha). Spend some time on WeShow, and let me know what you think!

terrific eye candy

January 17, 2008 · 1 Comment

Here’s my second post in my “appreciate it” category:

Two of my very good friends, one of which was my roommate for a little bit when I first moved to Brooklyn, started this site over a year ago: (terrific, whistle) is their baby; it’s what they do when they aren’t working at Magnum Photos and Powerhouse Books.

(terrific, whistle) is a plethora of photography, multimedia(the same type I discussed in my first “appreciate it” post about MediaStorm), and videos. The two of them take wonderfully stimulating photos that are a pleasure to look through. Lately they have been focusing more on their multimedia projects, which I have no qualms with because I love watching them!

The site isn’t jam packed full of too-much-to-look-at, so you can easily spend a few minutes a day without getting completely overwhelmed with the feeling like you are never going to be able to see everything on there. I would definitely recommend checking it out, it’s a fun site to add to you del.icio.us and go back to occassionally.

My only wish is that they would upload more videos, because the videos that I’ve seen outside of (terrific, whistle) are amazing and I would love them to be on the site so everyone could see them.

taken by storm…first in my ‘appreciate it’ site reviews

January 15, 2008 · 1 Comment

MediaStorm is my go-to site when I have down time to ’surf the net,’ and I want to be stimulated mentally without being extremely interactive. MediaStorm is a site filled with the new “it” form of media; it’s multimedia movies, or maybe they’re slide shows…I’m actually not sure what category they would fall under, but I love them.

Here’s the reason: I love photography, and the photography in these multimedia presentations is absolutely breathtaking. But, not only is the photography amazing, the stories, the narration, and the way everything comes together as a whole is stunning. MediaStorm engages its viewer in an emotional and entertaining way. One thing though, MediaStorm is not for the conservative or fainthearted; they choose very controversial topics, which is another reason I love and respect their work.
