I’m not sure how many of you know about this site I’m going to talk about today. Regardless, I know I have mentioned it to enough people that have never heard of it, so it’s worth talking about.
Going is a social network that combines the average-nothing-special social network profile with event listings,RSVP lists, and recommendations for things you might like to do in your city. As far as the social part goes, I’m not really into it, but it adds a little flava flav to a wold-be event listing site only.
There are a plethora of events; ranging anywhere from art openings, to fashion shows, to crazy dance parties. I love that Going allows its users to browse events by editors picks, daytime, nighttime, free, most popular, culture, etc. I think that is the best part of the site; the easy-to-find aspect.
As far as the RSVP part goes, for most of these events you can RSVP on Going and get either get in free, or pay a smaller cover charge. This is an awesome way to find something to do anytime of the week in New York, Chicago, Miami, San Fransisco, Los Angeles, and Boston. When you sign up for this site, it remembers what city you are in, so that network only comes up. For example, whenever I sign in, it only says Going New York.
One last thing, which probably is an expected function of the site, but a function nonetheless that I think is awesome. If you find an event you like, you can send the event to anyone even if they aren’t a member on Going.
Now… Going have fun you party animals!

Neat-o! Looking forward to the time they expand out to Toronto or London. I’m a fan of Upcoming for finding events, but Going seems to be more targeted and a lot more useful for getting inside tips and free cover!
